Halifax Beautification Committee approves Adopt-an-Island policy change. The committee unanimously shifted language from "company" to "entity" to broaden participation in island maintenance programs, requiring proof of insurance, written proposals, seasonal upkeep, and branded signage. Chair Shirley Graf will contact Kingsley Improvements about adopting the island at Indian Path Road intersection.
The committee approved $620 in litter-sign expenses, with signs installed by Steve Hayward on town entrance routes 106 and 58. Upcoming programs include a March 11 talk by Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries Senior Biologist Brad Chase on anadromous fish and dam impacts, spring cleanup on May 2-3, and nature walks scheduled for March and September.
