Select Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Halifax's Town Administrator Stephen Solbo told the Select Board Tuesday he is resigning effective August 14, calling it a personal decision unrelated to town issues. Chairperson Thomas Pratt and member Jonathan Selig, the only two members present, thanked Solbo and said an interim candidate with nearly 20 years of municipal experience will shadow him this week ahead of a possible public interview next week. In other 2-0 votes, the board approved a Massachusetts Department of Transportation heavy-vehicle exclusion for Old Plymouth Street, retired police comfort dog Roxy to the family of a departing officer, granted Principal Assessor Caroline a $2,195 retroactive step increase, reconstituted a five-member Zoning Bylaw Review Committee, and approved a one-day liquor license for Upland Ale Company at Ravenbrook Farm.
Solbo said his decision "has nothing to do with the residents of Halifax."
