Halifax Board of Health voted unanimously to withdraw a Notice of Violation at 285 Holmes Street, agreeing with property owner Liddell Development LLC's attorney that the cited State Sanitary Code provision did not apply to the commercially zoned industrial property. Health Agent Robert Buker concurred after reviewing the regulations that the sanitary code provision was inapplicable. The board also ratified five disposal works permits at residential addresses, approved $60,180 in FY2027 funding for the Public Health Excellence Grant's food code inspector and office licensing program, and ratified twelve permits for events, mobile food vendors, and septic service providers.
Lindy's General Store was issued a $1,000 state-mandated fine for selling tobacco to a minor.
