Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 11, 2026

Halifax Conservation Commission forwarded a 20-acre conservation restriction proposal to the Board of Selectmen for review. The unanimous vote marked the primary action of the August 11 meeting, which also saw the Commission approve determinations for three properties and a stormwater management plan. Consultant Scott Myers of Oxbow Associates presented the conservation restriction proposal on behalf of applicants, explaining that the restriction would preserve habitat to satisfy state mitigation requirements for rare species of concern across Halifax and Plympton.

The Commission lacks independent authority to accept the restriction and referred the matter to the Board of Selectmen and Town Counsel. All votes were unanimous.
