Family Transfers Outnumber Open-Market Sales in Halifax's August Deed Activity
Halifax recorded 11 property transfers between Aug. 7 and Sept. 5, but only four listed a sale price, ranging from $330 to $705 with a median of $608 among those disclosed. The month's top disclosed sale was 36 Marilyn Way at $705, sold by James and Gail McDonald to Max Micciantuono. Six of the 11 transfers moved property within the same family or into a trust, and none of those carried a disclosed price. With fewer than half of transactions showing pricing and no deeds recorded after Aug. 18 in this period, the data offers limited basis for characterizing overall market conditions.
