Goodman appointment recommendation fails on 2-2 tie; Palmer Mill approved
The Halifax Conservation Commission rejected a motion to recommend Steve Goodman as a full member, voting 2-2.
Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 25, 2026
The Halifax Conservation Commission rejected a motion to recommend Steve Goodman as a full member, voting 2-2. John Guiod and Edward Lane supported the appointment, while Paul Doucette and Kathy Evans opposed, citing concerns about Goodman's prior lack of participation as an associate member despite his previous full-term service. The commission issued a Negative Determination for a landscaping project at 105 Palmer Mill Road, allowing work including retaining walls, a French drain, a 12-by-16-foot shed, and a patio within the buffer zone.
Three additional hearings at 16 Old Summit Street, 17/17A Ocean Avenue, and 539 Plymouth Street were continued to September 8.
