HALIFAX — The Halifax Historical Commission approved prior minutes and scheduled summer museum operations, opening the museum June 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a Fireworks Committee celebration with patriotic displays and children's scavenger hunts. Chair John Shea and members noted the purchase of 12 storage bins and reviewed finances including $279 in plant sale profits and $941 in support for the Historical Society. The commission assigned Sandy Nolan and Shirley Graf to open the museum Tuesday, July 16, and Tina Palmer on Saturday, July 25, pending identification of a second volunteer.
Citing quorum concerns, the commission cancelled its July 14 meeting and rescheduled operations to resume August 11.
