Board of Health · Meeting of August 19, 2026

Halifax Board of Health approved septic plans and permits for five properties in a brief Wednesday meeting. Chair Pamela Engstrom and Clerk David Hatch cast all votes, 2-0 each time, with Vice Chair Candice Greene absent. The board reapproved the septic plan for 359 Plymouth Street after Health Agent Robert Buker noted a 2023 approval had never been acted on, saying "we never moved on it." Members also ratified agent approvals for Amanda's Way Units 11 and 12, 9 Ash Road, 59 Paradise Lane, and 17 and 17A Ocean Avenue, the latter using a "tight tank" system per Buker.

The board cleared the Expense, Revolving, Nursing Services and Public Health Excellence Grant accounts, including a $340.58 WB Mason invoice and $583.33 in nursing services, plus six permits including a seasonal mobile food permit and four septic installer permits.
