HALIFAX — The Halifax Conservation Commission approved a stormwater permit for the town's planned senior center at 267 Monponsett Street. Co-Chair Paul Doucette led the meeting in Chair John Guiod's absence, and the board voted 4-0 on the permit after Josh White of JDE Civil said the design cuts impervious surface by roughly 17,000 square feet compared with original assumptions. White said construction could go out to bid within a month, with work starting "March or April," weather permitting, and that the Board of Health had already approved the plan.
The commission also voted 4-0 to approve a septic replacement with special conditions at 19 Wamsutta Avenue near Monponsett Pond, issued a certificate of compliance for 513 Thompson Street, and continued a Notice of Intent hearing for 16 Old Summit Street indefinitely after the applicant could not reach an abutter for a required signature.
