Police Chief Chaves flagged a year-to-year animal control contract at $31,200 as a restructuring candidate, while Fire Chief Witham committed to adding stretcher replacement, estimated at several hundred thousand dollars per unit, to the capital plan.

The committee will meet jointly with the Board of Selectmen on March 9 to work through budget scenarios ahead of the March 10 warrant closing, with a potential Proposition 2½ override under active consideration.
