Board of Selectmen · Meeting of October 27, 2026
HALIFAX — The Halifax Select Board unanimously appointed two new Zoning Board of Appeals members and honored a retiring 40-year town employee. Chairperson Thomas Pratt and colleagues appointed Marlene Amity to full ZBA membership through June 2028 and Wayne Murray as an associate member through June 2027, with Murray telling the board "there's nothing more common in Halifax right now than vacant commercial real estate." State Senator Michael D. Brady's office and Representative Ken Sweezy's office presented citations honoring Dick Clark's retirement as Water Superintendent, Housing Authority maintenance director and call firefighter. The board also approved warrants totaling more than $5.2 million combined and three one-day liquor licenses for a Ravenbrook Farm event.
Interim Town Administrator Darleen Sullivan said a prior facilities assessment elsewhere cost about $60,000 and that the town's warrant for its next special town meeting closes November 3. The board closed by voting 3-0 on a roll call to enter executive session over fire union and AFSCME labor negotiations.
