Halifax Select Board bans heavy trucks on Old Plymouth Street after hearing safety concerns. The board voted 3-0 to prohibit through trucks over 2.5 tons from the street's western section, with Police Chief Chaves acknowledging the department "don't have the equipment to weigh the vehicles" to enforce it. The same meeting recognized Sergeant William Caprio's retirement after 27 years, unanimously promoted Officer Patrick DeRue to sergeant, and appointed two new patrol officers, William Beggary and Jeffrey F.
Samson. The board also voted to reconstitute a five-member Zoning Bylaw Review Committee aimed at a May 2027 Town Meeting warrant article, and approved warrants exceeding $1.8 million in combined town spending.
