Trustees recommend revising library emergency closing policy

Board of Library Trustees · Meeting of January 6, 2026

Halifax Library Trustees address emergency closing procedures and staffing needs. The Board recommended revising the library's emergency closing policy to follow Town Hall guidance instead of the Silver Lake Regional School District schedule, with Director Dylan Benoit to present a rewritten version at the February meeting. Trustees unanimously approved December 2 minutes with one abstention.

The Friends Annual Auction raised $1,490, a record year, with trustees suggesting the Friends expand management of future events. Six candidates are being interviewed for the Library Associate position, selected from 13 total applicants.
