Selectmen Approve $7 Electrical Rate Increase

Halifax Board of Selectmen voted 2-1 Tuesday to authorize Town Administrator Steven Solbo to sign a Colonial Power rate increase agreement that will add approximately $7 to average household electrical bills. Selectmen Jonathan Selig and William Smith voted in favor; Chair Thomas Pratt voted against. The agreement includes a 20-year low-income discount of 2 to 2.5 percent.
In other business, the Board unanimously approved Phase 1 of a veterans memorial garden on the Town Green and authorized Solbo to sign an amendment to postpone the conveyance of pickleball courts to April 1 due to snow.
