Silver Lake Panel Votes To Ease Tennis Court Limits
School Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026
HALIFAX — Silver Lake schools vote to unlock tennis court access, citing liability. The Silver Lake Regional School Committee approved, with one abstention, a SAFER subcommittee motion to give the tennis courts the same access level as the track and field area, after student ambassador Harrison Reynolds said locked courts "limit students in our district from getting practice." A district administrator said the schools carry no insurance for injuries on unlocked facilities without a certificate of insurance. Members also approved a Kingston Police memorandum of understanding for school resource officers, a $1,902.16 refrigerator swap between Dennett and Kingston elementary schools presented by food service director Megan Aaron-Holtz, and heard that AP exam participation has grown to 310 students taking 616 exams, up from 96 students two decades ago.
Silver Lake Regional High School was also recognized as a "No Place for Hate" school.
